Routes for Sunday, May 6th

Hey everyone,
Looking forward to riding this weekend.  Here is what we will we be doing this week:

The recreational group will be doing the Loop the Loop route on the Bike and Hike Path through Kent and Stow.  We will be doing the loop in reverse fashion (counter clockwise) this time.  To get started just head across Norton from LCP and cut through the Giant Eagle parking lot to Sowul and the Path is one block down on your right.  Just take a right onto the path to go West, and follow the signs around (Directions will be provided at the ride).  Total distance is 22.2 miles with 831 feet of climbing.  Here is the map of the route.

Loop the Loop Counter Clockwise

Our advanced group will be starting out the same way, but then jumping onto Barlow Rd. to head down to the CVNP.  As I hinted at earlier this week, we will have some guests joining us this week coming all the way from Michigan.

Besides seeing if the Roadies can take the Triathletes, regardless of ability, we will be trying to set benchmark times, that can hopefully be improved throughout the summer.  After an easy warmup riding down Truxell Rd, we will be testing ourselves with a 13 mile time trial loop along Akron Peninsula from Truxell Rd. to Bath Rd, then North on Riverview to Peninsula and back to Truxell via Rt. 303 and Akron Peninsula.

After we re-group, and recover, we will be setting our benchmark times up the Truxell Road Climb.  This a challenging but fair test of your riding, with a lot of veritcal, some flats, a steep part in the middle and rollers at the top.

Total for this ride is 28.8 miles and 920 feet of climbing.
